They have come on like gang busters talking the lead men in the 2K15 NL Rookie of the Year Voting dba Senior Circuit's #1 Donut/Coffee Runner. It all starts at the "Hot Corner" on the Senior Circuit talking Chicago Cubs Kris Bryant and San Francisco Giants Matt Duffy. Let's breakdown the Top 5 in the Hunt as we come down the stretch...
1. 3B Kris Bryant #MaddonBall #NorthSiders
Bryant just talking his Walk-Off Winners deserves to be on the List as he is 2nd on the North Siders" in HR (20) and RBI (75) to the Cubbies other All-Star Anthony Rizzo. K.B. also has 70 runs scored with 20 two-baggers and a dozen thefts and for a man that big...that's straight Icing on the cake! Yes he has 149 K's but he will fix that as he has looked like a Veteran from Day 1 as "Maddon Ball" would be lost without him.
2. 3B Matt Duffy #Gigantes #OrangeOctober
He has been better than advertised even the Giants didn't think he would be this good and efficient this early at the Hot Corner. A .308 average with 10 HR 58 RBI and 57 runs scored along with 23 two-baggers he is right there with Bryant. Bryant though gets the edge being "Clutch" late with the Walk-Offs and that is the deciding factor as we go to press.
3. SS/3B Jung Ho Kang #BUCN #Pirates
Kang has been steady-Eddy from day 1 and has given the Buccos flexibility at 3rd (Pedro Alvarez) and at SS (Neil Walker) with Grade A Production. Kang is hitting as we go to press .288 with 12 HR 46 RBI with 50 runs and 20 two-baggers. Throw those numbers in behind the Buccos Stars led by "Cutch 22" Andrew McCutchen...you get a team that is prolific "At the Dish"!
4. OF Randal Grichuk #Redbirds #MathenyBall
Grichuk's Production has been needed with key guys out and he has responded. A .284 average with 15 HR 44 RBI and 46 runs scored he has been better than good. Now he is on the D.L. until early to mid September the Redbirds will need to replace that production.
5. CF Joc Pederson #DodgerNation #TeamChavezRavine
He was the odds on favorite heading into All-Star Break. But he has hit the proverbial Rookie Wall right after the break and has never recovered. His average as we go to press is at .214 with 23 HR and 47 RBI. Pederson had 21 HR at the break but he does have 58 runs scored. He has been in such a "slump" Dodger Great Tommy LaSorda has even talked to the young fella with some words of advice!
