The Cincinnati Reds needed this win and they also need some positive reinforcement as their biggest week yet is coming right up. They beat the San Diego Padres 3-2 on a Joey Votto Sac-Fly as both teams went at it on the bump.
Padres Starter Ian Kennedy was in control and in line to get the win until that two-run eighth inning that tied the score up at two after he had a shutout through seven. Reds Starter Mike Leake gave up two in the 2nd frame but settles down to go seven strong as well. The Reds only had five hits through thirteen innings and the 'Dres pounded the Hardball for eleven hits built left Ducks all over the pond throughout.
Now the Reds begin a week where they take on the Cubs on thew North Side of the 'Go. They will be scoreboard watching as the NL Central leading Buccos travel to Baseball Town USA as the Redbirds will be looking for a tiny bit of retribution from when they stepped into PNC and received PNC Gift Cards and Heinz Ketchup Three Pack and all that with three L's to boot.
