Lakers Nation did you enjoy the Anthony Davis show and you knew that was coming. Just looking what the Lakers had on the schedule in the Grind House last night and at the Big Smoothie King Center tonight it was a tall order.
The Lakers though played tough down 51-48 at the break with Kobe leading the way for the Lake Show with 16 points. Ant Davis 13 points and REKE-havoc Evans 11 points led the way for the Pelicans who could get that 8th seed in a talented western conference.
New Orleans started pulling away in the 3rd behind Davis and Ryan Anderson along with Evans. They went on a 34-24 run to take a 82-75 lead at the end of three. Before the Lakers could look up at the scoreboard at the start of the 4th it was Austin Rivers and Anderson money balls with a free throw from REKE-havoc and the Pelicans were up to stay 92-72.
Ant Davis finished with a team-high 25 points, a dozen boards, and six blocks. REKE-havoc added 19 points and eleven assists along with Jrue Holiday's 17 points and five helpers. That trio is the core of the Pelicans Nest 5-4 and will take them in the next few years into the west top 4 teams and remember I said that!
The Black Mamba had a game-high 33 points showing you that age is nothing but digits. Kobe also took 28 shots and made 10 of them going 20 for 54 in back to back nights out of the motel. All five Lakers starters for what it is worth were in double figures with C-Booz 5 adding 16 points and LINsanity 15 points.
Pelicans at 4-3 are starting to climb as lead man Monty Williams finally has a healthy bunch. The Lakers fall to 1-7 and are headed to a 2015 lottery pick.
