The Chicago Blackhawks knew heading into this one it was imperative to get a "W" knowing they will be living out of the Motel for the next six games through Canada and the west coast. Both Big D Ice Games and the Indian Head traded goals x 2 in the first period only to see the Hawks score x 4 in the 3rd frame putting the Stars on ice 6-2.
The Hawks went up in the first on a D.K. Goal not even a minute and a half into period one. The Stars though get the next two goals not even a minute apart making it 2-1. Curtis McKenzie and Shawn Horcoff light the lamp for Dallas beating Hawks net minder Corey Crawford. The Hawks a little over midway through the first gets the game-tying goal on a power play from "Brooksie" as they go into the 1st intermission all knotted up at 2-2.
With no goals in the 2nd the Indian Head took over in the 3rd. In a span of 10 1/2 minutes the Bison City Blur, Captain Serious, Steeg, and Saad all get goals as thy broke open a 2-2 tie making it 6-2 Hawks rather quickly. Stars net minder Kari Lehtonen stopped 41 of 47 shots but that onslaught he faced in the 3rd overwhelmed him and Dallas as a unit!
Hawks net minder Corey Crawford stopped 22 of 24 SOG as the Stars were too busy in the 3rd trying to stop the Indian Head from scoring. Hawks out shoot the Stars some 23-5 in that 3rd period and now you know the rest of the story.
Hawks move to 10-7-1 with 21 points tied for 3rd in the central. The Stars fall to last in the central and stay at 16 points. The Indian Head will embark on a six-game motel swing starting in Calgary on Thursday November 20 at 9pm ET!
