The Utah Jazz will look back at this game and say that was one a veteran laden team closes with no issues. The Atlanta Hawks will say we had to protect home court and we knew we would make a run but would it be enough?
After the horn sounded and the clock struck zeroes the Hawks were standing in the winner's circle beating the Jazz 100-97. The Jazz led 97-89 with just under 4:40 to go and the Hawks close on a 11-0 run. That run was highlighted by Kyle Korver "dagger" money ball with the Jazz leading 97-95 with the Hawks taking the lead on the three 98-97. Hawks point god Jeff Teague closed the game with a pair of free throws.
Hawks 2013-14 All-Star Paul Milsap had a game-high 30 points and seventeen boards. Teague added 20 points and eight helpers with Korver chipping in with 17 points, ten boards, six helpers and going 4 for 7 from Stone Mountain, GA.
The Jazz were led by Alec Burks 22 points and Atlanta Native Derrick Favors 20 points and six boards. Enes Kanter added 16 points with Gordon Hayward 11 points and seven boards while the Jazz shot just 5 for 23 from Smyrna, GA.
The Hawks were 9 for 20 from the Arc and was +16 on the glass as that negate their 18 turnovers playing at home which is downright inexcusable! Atlanta moves to 4-3 while the Jazz fall to 3-6.
