The Star Players brought their A-Game in this one as UK and Michigan went Hay maker for Hay maker in Indy only for the last team standing to be the Kentucky Wildcats as they beat UM 75-72.
Inn a game that was back and forth from start to finish filed with Dagger-Like Money Balls, Put Back Hammers, Blocks, Buckets off the bounce, and of course Transition "Splash Plays...Kentucky prevails with all those Freshmen coming of age. It was Aaron Harrison who was the Hero as he made a he hist the game-winning Money Ball from Indy Suburb Carmel, Indiana with 2.8 seconds remaining as 2013-14 Big Ten Player of the Year Nik Stauskas potential game-tying Hail Mary from Half Court went for not.
UK pounded Michigan on the Glass 35-24 with the 'Cats hauling in some 17 offensive boards. Both Teams hit seven Money Balls as UK also shot nearly 55% from the field. UK was led by Julius Randle's 16 points and eleven boards as James Young and Aaron Harrison combined to shoot 7 for 10 from deep. UM was led by Stauskas' 24 points as he totaled 18 of that 24 in the 1st half. Glenn Robinson III added 14 points for the Maize and Blue in the loss.
Th Game came down to who had the Orange last to make a Play and that Aaron Harrison of the 'Cats as UK will meet Wisconsin in Game 2 in Dallas next Saturday April 5th, 2014.
360 Degrees...Big Ten loses a chance at both Michigan Schools getting to Final 4 and a possible three teams from the Big Ten in Dallas for the Final Four with both Sparty and the Maize and Blue losing.
