The Harvard Crimson ran the Ivy League and the 2013-14 Season at 13-1 and the Bearcats should have known this is not your typical #12 Seed with Coach Tommy Amaker behind the Crimson.
Behind stellar guard play from the Crimson will all three guards ending the contest in double figures Laurent Rivard (11 pts 4 rebs), Siyani Chambers (11 pts), and Wesley Saunders (12 pts 4 asst) Harvard just handled whatever the 'Cats threw at them. The AAC Co-Champion Bearcats get a game-high 18 points from Sean Kilpatrick (5 turnovers) and 13 points and ten boards from Senior Justin Jackson but they were out of sync as they played Harvard Tempo or Pace and give them Crimson a lot of credit for that. Cincy shot under 40% from the field and under 35% from the Arc. Harvard shot a little bit better but was + 6 points from the Arc and + 6 points from the Free Throw Line and that was the difference in the game.
The Crimson now await the winner of the #4 Spartans of Michigan State and the #13 Delaware Blue Hens.
A #5 vs a #12 will always happen in Round 1 and we have three more of those games to play...that #12 NC STate vs #5 St. Louis Billikens is your next Thriller!
360 Degrees...Coach Amaker off Coach K's Coaching Tree did it at Seton Hall grabbing McDonald's All-Americans Shaheen Holloway (Queens, NY) and the late Eddie Griffin (Philadelphia). He also had Michigan going with Cedar Hill, Texas Guard Daniel Horton another McDonald's All-American...Amaker can coach with the best of them!
