They were two out away from a No-Hitter and that would have been the first No No in LCS History in some 440 games played. Tigers beat the Red Sox 1-0 and Tigers Starter Anibal Sanchez (who lead the Junior Circuit in ERA in 2k13) was getting his inner Verlander and Mad Max on on the Bump.

The Carmines couldn't hit anything Sanchez threw as he struck out twelve Red Sox Hitters and the most baffling part of the six innings he pitched he issued a Family Pack of Walks...Six. Al Alburqueque, Jose Veras, Drew Smyly, and Captain Save-A-Game Joaquin Benoit  went the last three innings allowing one hit (Off Benoit as they no hit 8 1/3), no free passes and struck out five more Red Sox Hitters to bring that total up to 17 for the night. A dominating performance for the Tigers Staff as Aces Justin Verlander and Max Scherzer looked on.

Make no mistake about it Carmines Starter Jon Lester went 6 1/3 innings allowing just one run on six innings issuing a free pass and striking out four. The Carmines Staff for the most had the number to win as they were good and the Tigers were excellent. Tigers Shortstop Jhonny Peralta went 3 for4 with the game-winning RBI.

Tigers and Carmines go at it on Sunday October 13 at 8pm ET at Fenway in Game 2 of the ALCS....
