The Hawks scored the only goal in frame one on a short-handed goal by Pittsburgh, P.A. Native Brandon Saad making it 1-0 Hawks. Chicago's blue-paint tenant Corey "Craw-Dad" Crawford looked as though he was going to get to a possible shutout as he was playing his best game yet.
Then late in the 2nd it was the Ducks Emerson Etem on a tip-in tying the game at 1-1 as Hawks Nation would leave their seats for the 2nd intermission bewildered. That set the table for what no one saw coming as the Blackhawks nearly blew the 3rd and the Ducks hit the Stanley Cup Playoffs Record books.
It was Captain Serious "Lighting the Lamp" just under three minutes in the 3rd making it 2-1 Blackhawks only for Brent Seabrook to score some five minutes later making it 3-1 Blackhawks and yes the feeling of going back to Anaheim 2-2 was settling in then this happened:
The Ducks score three goals in 37 seconds with a Blackhawks Time Out in between the 2nd and 3rd goals as Ryan Kesler, Matt Beleskey, and Corey Perry all score, The Ducks took the lead on that Perry score. Then the luck of the Hawks it was Patrick Kane on a power play goal that tied the game up at 4-4 as we would go to extras. Ducks net minder Frederik Andersen had stopped 26 of 30 SOG going into extras as "Craw-Dad" had stopped 29 of 33 SOG.
There was no scoring in the 1st extra frame then in the 2nd with fourteen minutes past it was Patrick Sharp hitting Antoine Vermette as he slapped the first shot of Andersen only to go to the aide of the net to get the 2nd shot off and then.....the Hoooooooooooooooooorn please as Hawks win...Hawks win...Hawks win!
That was Vermette's 2nd of the post season and this came after he was a healthy scratch in game 3. Now we get Game #5 back in Anaheim on Monday May 25th, 2015 the Memorial Day Holiday!
