After Monday's nail biter that saw the N.Y. Mets sneak by the St. Louis Cardinals 2-1 in extras as the "Dark Knight" was handling his business the Redbirds Ash, Maple, or Bamboo has had a different outlook on things since that game.
St. Louis rides the arm of Starter Carlos Martinez as he goes four-hit hardball through 6 1/3 frames allowing no runs as he struck out five and walked two. He received plenty of run support as the Redbirds Bats lit up Mets starter Bartolo Colon starting in the top half of the 4th after three scoreless frames.
The Redbirds hung a crooked six on Colon in the 4th and that frame was powered by a Jason Heyward solo Blast and a three-run Bomb by Matt "Honey I ate the Buffet" Adams. Colon would eventually get chased in the 5th after giving up nine runs on eleven hits and those two bombs.
This Redbirds Offense has scored 19 runs in the last two days as Redbirds starter Michael Wacha was the winner last night as St. Louis won 10-2. The Mets fall to 23-18 as they have cooled off dramatically since that surprising April start.
Baseball Town U.S.A. moves to a robust 27-13 and even without Ace Adam "Waino" Wainright the Cards are still rolling along...
