It was the first 60 minutes of the 2015 NHL Western Finals and the Anaheim Mighty Ducks held serve. The Blackhawks skating fast and furious out shooting the Ducks (16-7, 1st Period) was getting solid chances. Those chances were coming from some spotty play with the Puck in the Ducks own end and neutral zone. Still the Ducks found a way to lead after one 1-0 on a Hampus Lindholm score.
Frederik Andersen for Anaheim was phenomenal in the blue-paint as he halted 32 of 33 SOG and the Hawks were playing their game through a frame and a half. Then the Ducks get goal #2 on a Kyle Palmeiri score making it 2-0 Ducks. That spotty play in the Ducks end came back to haunt the Ducks late in the 2nd when Mike Richards took a an offering from vet Defenseman Francois Beauchemin making it 2-1 as he beat Andersen. That score came with 40 seconds remaining in the 2nd as the Indian Head had the momentum.
The Ducks in the 3rd got a quick 2 on 2 with Nate Thompson trailing as Thompson wristed in a rebound of Hawks net minder Corey Crawford for a 3-1 Ducks lead. Anaheim's physical play took over from midway through the 2nd to the final horn. Ducks Jacob Silvfverberg hits an empty netter for the final of 4-1 Ducks. Crawford stopped 23 of 26 SOG as both teams were 0-fer on the power play.
