The Chicago Blackhawks know there is no better time to make up some ground as then now as they handle the visiting Edmonton Oilers 5-3 at the Madhouse With four games straight coming up at the Madhouse on Madison the Hawks need to take care of Business as they chase the Ice Games Leading Anaheim Mighty Ducks.
Both Teams cored in the 1st period as the Blackhawks get a goal from Ben Smith to make it 1-1 after one. The Hawks then go after the Kill in the 2nd period as Andrew Shaw, Marian Hossa, and Captain Serious #19 all score while the Oilers score to make it 4-2 after two periods. Actually Patrick Kane scored the Oilers Goal as the Hawks had an Empty Net and he missed the at the blue line as the puck slowly but surely had eyes some 180 feet of peepers.
The hawks and Oilers both score in frame three as the Oilers make it 4-3 on a Taylor Hall wrister and Hawks Defenseman "Brooksie" Brent Seabrook score the last goal on a Wrister and Hawks Win!...Hawk Win! and move to 30-8-10 and that is 70 points and good for #2 in Ice game behind the Ducks. Hawks Net Minder Antti Raanta stops 19 of 21 shots on net and moves to 12-1-3 in 2013-14. Oilers Net Minder Devan Dubnyk stop 36 of 41 shots and falls to 11-17-2. Edmonton dead last in the West falls to 15-28-5 with just 35 points.
Hawks now get the Avs on Tuesday Night January 14 at 8pm ET...
