As we go to press the Pittsburgh Pirates are 37-26 in 2013 and that puts them 3rd in the NL Central just four games behind the 1st place Redbirds of the Lou. The 2012 Fall Classic Champion Gigantes come in 2nd place in the NL West at 33-29 behind the D-Backs. There is something else brewing at PNC in game one of the series tonight that has Buccos Nation feeling anxious.

The Gigantes will throw Tim Lincecum vs the Pirates 2011 1st pick Garrit Cole and just as anxious as the Pirates Fans will be so will the Giants Hitters led by back stop Buster Posey and "Panda Smash" Sandoval.

Game Two will feature Vet LHP Barry Zito versus a resurrected LHP Francisco Liriano who has pitched well in his last two starts and has been Liriano-esque.

The Gigantes will, end h three game set throwing 2012 Mid Summer Classic Starter for the Senior Circuit Matt Cain as the Buccos have yet to name a starter.

This is a big series for both as the Buccos are trying to rundown the Cards and the Gigantes are trying to get the NL West lead from the D-Backs. That NL Wild Card might take at least 95 plus W's....real talk.
