The Rockies get caught up in STRASBURG Mania last night on Potomac but Rocks RHP Jhoulys Chacin took care of Nats today with a 7 inning five hit no runs allowed performance. The Rockies helped him out the gate by putting a crooked three in the 1st and fourth innings as the Rockies win by a score of 7-1. Rockies Star Carlos "Car-Go" Gonzalez was relatively quiet going 1 for 5 but it was Rockies second baseman DJ LeMahieu who carried the Rockies going 3 for 5 including a solo shot. Both teams are .500 as the Nats are 32 in the NL East and the Rocks #3 in the NL West.
The Yankees survived Ace CC. Sabathia giving up a Granny to Rays Rookie OF Wil Myers as Vernon Wells goes a bases loaded clearing double in the 7th to give the Bronx Bombers Win #41 on the season as they stay on pace with the O's and Carmines. Sabathia gets the "W" and moves to 8-5 as he gave up five runs on six hits in seven innings including giving up two souvenirs in the bleachers. Yankees Rookie Center Fielder Zoilo Almonte knocks in three runs in his Yankees 2K13 debut.
The Toronto Blue Jays continue their ascent to the middle of the pack in the AL East as they beat the O's again 4-2. RHP Chien-Ming Wang went 6 1/3 innings allowing juts four hits and a run. The O's Starter Miguel Gonzalez went seven strong and allowed three runs on three hits in 7 1/3 innings. The big blow with the game tied in the bottom of the eight frame 'Jays OF Jose Bautista's Two-Run Big Fly and for the Jays that's ten in a row. Now the 'Jays are 37-36 and tied for 4th with the Rays and only four games out of 1st place...absolutely remarkable June Run for the 'Jays.
