The Chicago Blackhawks GM and President of Ops Stan Bowman didn't waste anytime with the Blackhawks Salary Cap Issues and where the Hawks stand. Today they traded Game 6 Hero Center Dave Bolland to the Toronto Maple Leafs the 51st Selection and 117th Selection in the 2013 NHL Draft as well as a 2014 4th Round Selection in the NHL Early Entry Draft per sources. Bolland will be missed but his Cap Hit was too much to bear and played the 2013 Season injured a lot.
The Blackhawks then turn right around and use some of "Bollie's" Cap Space to get Forward Bryan Bickell signed to a 4-year deal. "Bicks" had 17 points in the Hawks Stanley Cup Run in 2013 and he is a vital part to that Toews and Kane Line as they played lights out with him on their line. The Hawks also lose Forward and Czech Republic Native Michael Frolic to the Leafs for the 74th and 134th Picks in the 2013 NHL Draft.
The Blackhawks also made Right Winger Ryan Hartman of Plymouth in the OHL (Ontario Hockey League) their 1st overall pick at #30 in the 2013 NHL Draft. Hartman is a Chicago Native and it's his size and versatility that makes him a great winger. He scored 60 points (23 G 37 A) in 56 games in Plymouth in 2012-13.
