The Yanks and A's will battle in the Black Hole in a three game set as they both are siting in 2nd place in their respective divisions. The Yanks trail the Carmines by two full games in the AL East. The A's trail the Rangers by just one game in the AL West. Both Teams are at the top of their Rotations to start the three game set.

Game Two a steady #4 in the rotation Phil Hughes faces young RHP Dan Straily. The Rubber Match or game Three has Kuroda vs Parker and Kuroda outside of C.C. has been the yanks other consistent pitcher as he has in a losing streak of late.

The Yanks know they are in a 4-team fight with the O's, Rays, and AL East leading Red Sox all the way through September. The A's are trying to stay atop the AL West or close to the Rangers as the Halos (AL West Pre Season Favorite by many) have yet to get in the race as they are eleven games back.
