Washington Nationals are riding Mad Max Scherzer as he out duels the O's Wei-Yin Chen 3-2 as both pitchers go at least eight frames. It was the Nats crooked three they put up in the 3rd highlighted by a Tyler More two RBI double that made erased a 1-0 O's lead.
Baltimore scored in the 1st on a solo blast by "Adam Bombs" Jones who else talking that short lived 1-0 lead. With the score 3-1 in the bottom half of the 9th Nats Skipper Matt Williams decided to leave Mad Max in and his first two batters he faced were ground outs. Then it was Adam Jones dba "Adam Bombs" taking Mad Max deep again for his 2nd solo bomb on the day as the Nats then went to the Pen!
Nts Captain Save-A-Game Drew Storen struck out the Artist formerly known as "Crush" Davis in Chris Davis to end the game as the Nats would take the Rubber Game 3-2! Mad Max moves to 10-7 going 8 2/3 frames allowing those two HRs to Jones. Chen falls to 4-5 as he goes eight giving up three runs on eight hits.
Washington heads into break at 48-39 just two game sup on the Amazins' as we go to press. The O's at 44-44 is just 3.5 games back in the AL East with four of the five teams 3.5 games back or less.
