The Stars were aligned for the Chicago Cubs in game #4 of a four-piece at the "Friendly Confines" and the Cubs Pen could not leave well enough alone! It was Redbirds SS Johnny Peralta with all the drama unfolding in the 9th at the dish versus Cubbies Captain Save-A-Game Pedro Strop with Redbirds Pete Kozma on the pond...
Wham a fly to centre that looks like trouble as it looked like a Tee Shot hit by Big Bertha at the Augusta and just like that it was 6-5 Redbirds. Peralta goes yard on a two-run bomb as Wrigley Field and Cubs Nation were in utter shock and disbelief! All this after the Cubbies with Sacks Packed" in the 6th gets a bases clearing two-bagger by Miguel Montero moving the Cubbies up 5-4 after a 4-2 deficit! Both Red Birds Skipper Mike Matheny and back stop Yadier Molina were ejected after the hit as they though Wacha got squeeze on the previous pitch before the hit!
What makes matters even worse that Cubbies two-game sweep yesterday on the Twilight Double Header goes for not as the Redbirds leave town as they came in up 8.5 games on the North Siders. Neither starter Michael Wacha ( 6 IP 7 H 5 R 5 ER) and Jason Hammel (left after Inning One) was on the hook for a decision.
Cards move to 55-30 as the North Siders fall to 46-38...
