The "Rubber Game" was going to have to go through Max Scherzer as the Braves were up for the challenge on "Get Away Day" in Hotlanta!
It was a pitchers duel as "Mad Max beyond Nats Park" would again go nine but this time he would get burned. Braves starter Manny Banuelos would hold his own as would the Braves Pen through nine giving up just one run and it came down to this in the bottom half of the 9th...
With Mad Max Scherzer still on the "Bump" preserving a 1-1 tie it was a Pedro Ciriaco lead-off single that got things cooking. Then a sac bunt by Jace Peterson moving Ciriaco to 2nd. Then on a 1-2 what look to be a rare "Get Me Over" Slide Piece from Mad Max Braves CF Cameron Maybin singles home Ciriaco for a walk-off single a Braves "W'!
Scherzer would take the loss falling to 9-6 as Braves Country Captain Save-A-Game Jason "Grill Man" Grilli picks up the "W" moving to 3-3. Washington at 43-36 leads he NL East by 3.5 games over the Amazins'! Braves Country at 38-41 just five games back and lurking...
