Captain Serious says enough is enough as no one is going to lay down for the Indian Head with all the success we have sustained in the last five to six seasons. Behind two Jonathan Toews Goals (20) (21) and a Brandon Saad (20), Marcus Kruger (6), and Marian Hossa (18) all lighting the lamp the Hawks roll past Carolina 5-2 to stay on pace in the Central.
Toews scored the first and only goal in frame one as he came right back in the 2nd frame not even a minute in and scored a short-handed goal making it 2-0 Hawks. Both Saad and Kruger score their goals in the 2nd and it was 4-0 after two frames as the Indian Head net minder "Craw-Dad" Corey Crawford was on his game and needed this one.
Carolina though not going away quietly gets goal one under the five minute mark in the 3rd behind John-Michael Liles making it 4-1 Hawks. Three minutes and some change later Marian Hossa strikes with #18 beating 'Canes blue-paint tenant Anton Khodobin as he replaces starter Cam Ward after the 2nd frame.
Carolina score one more goal but the game was all Indian Head by then as the Hawks win 5-2 moving to 38-21-5 with 81 points. That puts the Hawks 4 points behind the Blue Notes for 2nd place and some 8 points behind the Predators for the lead in the Central as we near "Fight for Lord Stanley" Time.
The Indian Head gets the days off as they get #HereComeTheOilers from Edmonton, Alberta on T.G.F. March 6. Then the showdown as the "Blue Shirts" from World's Most Famous come marching in on Sunday March 8th at the Madhouse.
Note: Hawks "Trade" as the Indian Head sends forward Ben Smith to Team Teal dba San Jose Sharks for Sharks forward Andrew DesJardins.
