The Chicago Blackhawks came out playing on their heels as the NY Islanders had one thing in mind and that was to shower Hawks Net Minder Corey "Craw-Dad" Crawford with as many Frozen Ones as possible. Yes the Team Indian Head out shot the Isles 39-34 but in the end the aggressor one and that went to the Isles.

Down 2-0 late in the 2nd period it was Hawks Defenseman Brent Seabrook that put the Hawks on the Board with a Power Play Goal to end the scoring in the 2nd period at 2-1 Isles. The Hawks then strike early in the 3rd period behind Ben Smith Tip-In off of a "Captain Serious" (Jonathan Toews) Shot to make the score 2-2.

That score held up going to Extras as the Islanders gets a ricochet off Center John Tavares Stick as he he went Wrister high on the glove side to beat the Hawks in OT 3-2. Too many peaks and valleys for the Hawks as the game wasn't played consistent enough for them to pull out one against a bad hockey club. Crawford was still on his game and didn't look like a player who has been out for an extended period of time stopping 31 of 34 shots. The Hawks fall to 28-7-8 and 64 points good for #1in Ice Games in front of the Mighty Ducks. The Isles move to 14-21-7 with just 35 points as they are amongst the bottom feeders in the East.

Next up for Hawks January 3rd at New Jersey Devils right across the Hudson as the Hawks take the Mega Bus over there from Long Island, NY.

360 Degrees...I will sure miss those days in the Coliseum when the Isles were rolling as they faced those Wayne Gretzky-led Oiler Teams as the Isles had HOF Dennis Potvin, Mike Bossy, and Brian Trottier. The Isles are slated to move over to Brooklyn and the Barclays for the 2014-15 season as their lease will be up in the Coliseum after this season.
