The 2nd installment of the Bluedude Sportstalk MLB Power Rankings which will start this month to be a semi-monthly occurrence. The Bluedude's only ranks the top 10 Teams as four of those play in a one game playoff to decide who moves into the divisional playoffs.

The St. Louis Cardinals of Baseball Town USA are on fire as they are setting the curve as we go to press playing some .673 hardball. The Red Legs and Buccos are playing not too far behind as they are also playing .600 ball trying to keep pace with the Redbirds. The Carmines of Boston are a few games ahead of the Bombers in the AL East with the Tigers ahead in the AL Central as Miggy Cabrera goes for his 2nd straight triple-crown. The Rangers run the AL West but are being watched closely by those Swingin' A's.

The NL East has the Atlanta Braves still atop the east after cooling off after a hit start in April. They are being followed by the Washington Nationals who have key injuries (Starsburg/Harper) starting to pile up on them. The NL West surprisingly enough has the Arizona D-Backs setting the curve with the  Rockies in 2nd , in 3rd, and the Boys in Blue....the Dodgers sitting in the Basement of the NL West with that ginormous payroll.

2013 Top Ten June MLB Power rankings through June 1, 2013 in the Show:

1. #REDBIRDS (37-18) 1st in the NL Central and the Show: Skip Matheny has them locked in as they are putting it all together from the Bump to the Dish and they will continue to play this way as they also have solid defense. Imagine this they lost Closer Motte to Tommy John Surgery and still rolling.

2. #REDLEGS (35-21) 2nd in NL Central and in the Show: Dusty Bakler and the boys are starting to play Reds Winning Time Hardball as they get their Ace back in the rotation in Johnny Cueto. As we go to press they are in the midst of sweeping the 3rd place NL Central Pirates.

3. #RANGERS (34-21) 1st in AL West and on the Junior Circuit: Skip Wash doesn't get enough credit as he has the rangers behind Ace Yu Darvish and leading hitter Adrian Beltre leading his club once again against heavy favorites the Halos and Athletics.

4. #BUCCOS (34-22) 3rd in NL Central still playing .600 hardball: They have been getting solid starting pitching and the young players are starting to turn the corner. They started like this in 2012 then peeled off around the late June and the Mid Summers Classic. As we go to press they need to salvage a "W" from the Red Legs today to avoid the sweep.

5. #BRAVES (33-22) 1st in AL East: They have a 5 1/2 game lead on the injury-riddled Nats and if they hit one more hot streak they will runaway with the NL East before all-star break. What is going on with RHP Kris Medlen (1-6 w/3.48 ERA in 11 Starts)?

6. #CARMINES (34-23) 1st in AL East: One a difference a  Good Manager makes as the Roster was in place last season but you are only as strong as your sop called Leader is and Bobby V is American Pie. The Bo Sox have the Yankees breathing down their necks but have a solid 1-2 punch from the Bump and excellent line up led by Power Hitting "Big Papi" and Napoli.

7. #SwinginATHLETICS (33-24) 2nd in AL West: Started from the Bottom now there here. That is what the A's do as they are starting to get hot like the weather. Can the Rangers keep the A's at bay through the summer months into September? Right now its a two-trick pony in the AL West.

8. #PINSTRIPES (31-24) 2nd in AL East: They are starting to get back capable bodies as Youkilis and Texiera came back last Friday and they need to someone else to step up in that rotation other than C.C. and Kuroda. After All-Star Break they should be fully-loaded and ready top make their run.

9. #TIGERS (30-24) 1st in AL Central: It just feels like and looks like the Tigers are just cruising until they feel a need to hit the afterburners. Can the Tribe or Pale Hose put any fear into the Tigers...any?

10. #Os (31-25) 3rd in AL East: They have the Roster to compete now for the East and the AL Pennant but can they bring all of that to fruition. Johnson is the Closer they need but its going to have to start in that Rotation as 1B Chris Davis is having and AL MVP-type season at the Dish.

On Deck...and in the Hole

#RAYS (30-25) 4th in AL East...if they can get the Dominican Flame-Thrower Save Man Fernando Rodney back on stride they will be right there through 162...How long is 2012 CY Young Winner David Price going to be out?

#TRIBE (30-25) 2nd in AL Central...they went out and spent cash on Swisher and Bourne and that has paid off but their biggest pick up was getting Skip Terry Francona....hence #2 in the AL Central.
