The Blue Devils behind their Freshman Tyus Jones, Jahlil Okafor, and Justice Winslow gives Coach K and the Duke Program Chip #5. Looking at it even closer it was 2014 McDonald's All-American Game Dunk Contest Winner Grayson Allen of Florida that captivated the audience on this night as Duke wins 68-63.
Allen scored 18 points all tourney long carried Duke along with Tyus Jones in the 2nd half as they combined to score 29 of Duke's 37 second half points. The Badgers had their chances but fell short on a night they had good looks especially from the arc and they just didn't go down.
After a "Frank the Tank" Lay-Up with 13 minutes and some change remaining and the Badgers up 48-39 Duke was at the crossroads. The next six minutes the Blue Devils go on a 15-6 run to tie the game at 54-54 with just over seven minutes to go. Jones and Allen combined for 13 of that 15 in that run as the Badgers had no idea how to stop Allen.
Then Clutch being Clutch it was Tyus Jones taking over the game like he has so many times this season as his smooth game is already NBA-esque. Duke after being tied at 54-54 closed on a 14-9 run as Jones had a game-high 23 points. Allen dropped off 16 in 21 minutes shooting 5 for 5 from the stripe.
The Badgers capturing a whole state and Big 10 Country on this magnificent two-year run was led by Kaminsky's 21 points and twelve boards as he didn't disappoint. The Big Ten, March Madness, and Badger nation will never forget those 2013-2015 Badgers on the Hardwood that almost went the distance twice believe that!
Congrats to both on Championship Runs as there cane only be one...the Duke Blue Devils!
Tyus Jones voted The Final 4's M.O.P. and he deserves it...
