The Memphis Grizzlies knew the Portland Trailblazers were coming into the series all banged up and with out SG Wes Matthews Jr. (Achilles Rupture). They took full advantage of Grit and Grind Nation packing the Grind House and put it on the Blazers for a 100-86 "W" and it wasn't that close!
Memphis led 25-15 after one and 58-39 at the break with the Grind House Bigs in Marc Gasol and @macBO50 Zach Randolph going to work. They combined for 31 points, twenty-two boards and seven helpers. Beno Udrih helping Mike Conley Jr. man the PG Slot for Memphis added 20 points and seven helpers playing extremely well as Memphis will need his play and production as they move forward in the series.
The Rip City Bigs had no answer as the L-Train Blazers Star PF LaMarcus Aldridge had a game-high 32 points on 34 shots and that won't get it done. All-Star PG Dame Lillard had just 14 points on 5 for 21 from the field as he looked out of sorts as well. Blazers shot 30% plus from the field and the arc and that will get them a quick exit as you can expect Team Stotts and Company to make major adjustments for game #2.
Game #2 is "Hump Day" April 22 at the Grind House in Memphis at 8pm ET...
