The Chicago Blackhawks knew it would be business on this night trying to take down a Dallas Stars Unit that was making a move in the central. They arrived at the "Madhouse on Madison" having scored 13 goals on the 'Yotes and the Wild with the Hawks on their menu.

It was back and forth back and forth with Dallas holding serve every time. Jamie Benn of the Stars started the scoring in period one as the Hawks Brandon Saad tied the game up at 1-1 with a wrister. Dallas came right back in the 2nd with Jamie's lil bro Jordan Benn "lighting the lamp" for a Stars 2-1 lead. Not even two minutes later the "Bison City Mullet" #88 Patrick Kane strikes tying the game up at 2-2 for the Hawks.

Both net minders by now had to be thinking this might be one of those nights where I get a nice seat right behind the bench. Stars Erik Cole less than a minute after Kane scored scores for Dallas making it 3-2 Stars. The Hawks right under the two minute mark in the 2nd gets a power play goal from Bryan Bickell tying the game up at 3-3 heading into the 3rd.

Dallas not to be denied was thinking about hanging a crooked six or seven on the Indian Head as Cole again inn the 3rd on a tip-in scores making it 4-3 Stars. The Hawks Brad Richards with the Indian Head trailing 4-3 from an impossible angle beats Lehtonen for his 8th goal of the season tying the game up at 4-4 heading into extras.

It was a Duncan Keith pass right on the stick of Patrick Sharp dba "Sharpie" #10 who gets the game-winner snapping one right off the blocker side of Lehtonen for the win 5-4 as the Hawks take back 1st place in the Central from the Preds!

Hawks net minder Corey Crawford stopped 30 of 34 SOG with Lehtonen stopping 33 of 38 SOG. Hawks 1 for 3 on the PP as the Stars didn't get a power play.

The Indian Head moves to 26-11-2 with 54 points leading the central over the Nashville Predators with 53 points. Hawks get the Avs at the Madhouse on Tuesday January 6 as Colorado is in last place in the central with 38 points.

The Stars stay at 42 points and 5th in the central...
