The Hawks followed the work of one net minder Corey Crawford as he stymies the Wild Offense stopping 42 of 44 SOG. Going 360 Degrees "Craw-Dad" inn 26 starts in the 2014-15 season has allowed two goals or fewer in 17 of those 26 starts and that is getting it done.
The Hawks skate to a 4-02 win as Patrick Sharp started the Indian Head scoring by getting a wrister by Wild net minder Niklas Backstrom (16/19 svs). Then the "Bison City Mullet" Patrick Kane late in the 1st gets a wrister by Backstrom for his 20th goal of the season making it 2-0 Hawks on the Indian Head power play.
Jason Zucker got the Wild on the board scoring just a little over a minute in the 2nd making it 2-1 Hawks as that would be the only goal in the 2nd. Just over six minutes into the 3rd Bryan Bickell "lights the Lamp" making it 3-1 Hawks only for the Wild's Jason Pominville with just over five minutes remaining scoring make it 3-2 Hawks.
"Bicks" though with the Wild skating with an extra man late in the 3rd scores on an empty net for his 2nd on the night and a Hawks win 4-2. The Wild out shot the Hawks 44-20 with both teams scoring once on the power play.
The Hawks move to 27-12-2 with 56 points tied with the "Preds" for 1st in the central. The Wild falls to 18-15-5 with 41 points good for 6th in the central.
The Indian Head will get #HereComeTheOilers on the 2nd leg of back to back out of the motel on Friday January 9th.
