A 42-39 score at the break as both Teams tried to get hydrated and with just under five minutes to go and the Wiz looking like they were going to start 2014 with a Victory the Mavs Strike. The Verizon Center gets hit with Mississippi Lightning and VIN-canity as the Mavs pull a whodini late in the 4th to get a 87-78 victory.

Monta Ellis aka "Mississippi Lightning" had a game-high 23 points as he and Mavs Bench Star Vinc-anity Carter (13 pts) pulled the Mavs Bench along as they both made huge plays in the pivotal 4th frame late. The Mavs made key shots and plays to seal the "W" as Wiz Point God John Wall led with 22 points and seven boards as cold-shooting night by both Bradley Beal (10 pts 4-13 Fg) and Trevor Ariza (8 pts 3-14 FG) didn't help the Wiz Cause. Wiz PF Trevor Booker added a monster night on the glass with 19 boards and ten points. The Mavs shooting 21-23 from the field put that check mark in the "W" Column.

The Wiz fall under the .500 mark at 14-15 as that still keeps them amongst the Top 8 in the East . The Mavs keep their win steak going as they move to 19-13 in the top-heavy Western Conference.
