All things were working for the St. Louis Cardinals as the Calendar barely says April and they looked like they were in near 2K15 Midsummer's Classic Form. All the vitals for game 1 performed as expected for the Cards as they cruise to a 3-0 win over their rival the Cubbies minus 5K fans due to incomplete construction but enough of that. All that noise has nothing to do with 90 feet down the chalk, 60' 6" from the Bump to the Dish, and nine frames of work.
Redbirds Ace Adam "Waino" Wainright goes six strong allowing just five hits striking out six. The Redbird Pen was five-star as Captain Save-A-Game Trevor Rosenthal goes one looking two swinging and beep beep drive home safely!
Cards new addition OF Jason Heyward in the two-hole sandwiched between Matt Carpenter and Matt Holliday was 3 for 5 with a run as those Cards 1-2-3 Hitters were a combined 7 for 14 with three Ribbies and two runs scored.
Cubs #1 Jon Lester was chased in the 5th after going 4 1/3 frames giving up eight hits and three runs while striking out six and walking two. Cubs Offense was non-existent which had a lot to do with "Waino" dominating as the Cubbies 2-5 Hitters combined to go 2 for 15.
It's just 1 of 162 but you keep saying that and then your 15 games back of 1st place leaving April. C'mon North Siders let's go as the Cards will be there as one of the top Clubs in the show for 2015.
