The St. Louis might have carved out an alley way to the "Fight for Lord Stanley" as they not only beta the Chicago Blackhawks but in doing so leap frogs the Nashville Predators for 1st in the rugged NHL Central.

Looking at it even closer the Blues and Blackhawks could meet in round 1 and as e stand it would be Hockey Shame to see one of the finer teams in the 2014-15 Ice Games go home and not get a sniff of May meaningful Hockey.

Kris Versteeg opened up the scoring with the only goal in the first frame from an assists from Marian Hossa making it 1-0 Hawks. The Blues got going in the 2nd behind a penalty by the Hawks Michal Rozival and the Blue Notes Captain David Backes made them pay with a power play goal tying the game up at 1-1.

Then late in the 2nd it was Olli Jokinen "Lighting the Lamp" for the Blue Notes for a 2-01 lead that they would never give up. A Marian Hossa shot of the left post was the closest the Hawks got and that was right fare Jokinen's goal.

Both blue-paint tenants Corey Crawford for the Hawks (31/33 Svs) and Jake Allen of the Blues (38/39 svs) play was outstanding. The Blue Notes were 1/3 on the power play and the Indian Head 0 for 2.

Current NHL Central Standings

Blue Notes 105 pts
Preds 104 pts
Indian Head 102 pts
