The Utah Jazz played the "Champs" from start to finish better than anyone of late and gets out of the new Salt Palace with a 100-96 "W". The Jazz NBA Heads will turn that corner one day and that place will get back to the #1 place for Visitors to hate to play 48!
The Jazz led 44-43 at the break after trailing 22-21 after one. They had a balanced attack led by soon to be All-Star Gordon Hayward (7 pts) and Alec Burks (8 pts). The Spurs "Running on Duncan" since the late 90s was led by Duncan's 10 points at the break.
In the 3rd with the Jazz pushed out to a 78-72 lead as they shoot 50% on the night despite committing 18 turnovers. The Jazz starters simply outplayed the Spurs starters down the stretch and not making any excuses for Spurs family but in the 82-game trek there will be nights were you reach back for the reserve tank and there is absolutely nothing to grab.
The Jazz beat the Spurs 100-96 as Derrick Favors nets a team-high 21 points and eight boards., Hayward added 20 points and seven boards with Enes Kanter from Turkey going a dozen points and hauling in fifteen boards with Burks 14 points.
Spurs "Running on Duncan" as he goes game-high 23 points and fourteen boards and he will play until the 25th century. Kawhi Leonard added 16 points with Danny Green and Marco Belinelli each dropping in 13. San Antonio shot just 20% from the Arc and below 70% from the stripe.
Jazz ends a nine-game "L" streak moving to 6-16 while the Spurs fall to 15-6...
