The Blackhawks knew it would be nip and tuck playing against their Western Conference Nemesis in the San Jose Sharks and Stars like Joe Thornton and Logan Couture. The Hawks played well all the way through as the Sharks struck in the 1st period with a goal from Jason Demers. That was the only goal for the rest of the 1st frame and all of the 2nd frame.

The 3rd Period the Hawks get going and just a minute and a half in Niklas Hjalmarsson hits a slapper past Fins Net Minder Alex Stalock to make it 1-1. Team Indian Head three minutes later gets another slapper from Michal Rozsival to make it 2-1 Hawks. With the a 2-1 lead and a little over midway through the 3rd frame the Fins gets a wrister from Brent Burns to tie it all up at 2-2. Crawford (17-6-5) stopped 40 of 42 shots and was cruising until he let that Frozen One by him.

They go to a shootout as the Hawks have not been good all season long in shootouts and the Sharks pull one out. Fins Net Minder Alex Stalock (5-2-0) stopped 33 of 35 shots. The Hawks fall to 28-7-9 but grab a point and have an NHL leading 67 points and that is tied with the Mighty Ducks. The Fins move to 27-10-6 and have 60 points.

Next up for the Hawks the Blue Shirts of Manhattan on Hump Day January 8 at 8pm ET at the Madhouse...
