Look 'Wolves lead man on the Hardwood and front office Flip Saunders has made it no secret that after the Kevin Love Saga that Minnesota would go young right away and take their lumps letting some of the youngsters grow on the fly. Well 2014 #1 overall pick Andrew Wiggins is starting to get acclimated to his surroundings as he goes team-high 23 points (9-16 FG) while grabbing ten boards for the 'Wolves shocking 90-82 win over the Northwest leading Rip City Blazers!
The 'Wolves led big at the end of three 66-51 and not taking anything away fro 10K Lakes but Rip City might have been looking ahead to that Bulls match up on Friday night at the U.C.! The 'Wolves get the "W" shooting just 1 for 12 from deep. What they did though was +18 on the glass and forced 20 Blazers turnovers. Fellow 'Wolves Rook Zach "Trampoline" LaVine thrusted into the starting PG slot with Spain's "La Pistola" Ricky Rubio out added 10 points and five helpers.
The Blazers 23 points, seven boards, and five assists from Dame Lillard but just 10 points and nine boards on 3 for 14 FG from the Logo's only Train the L-Train LaMarcus Aldridge. Wes Matthews added 18 points as those were the only three Blazers in double figures.
Minnesota moves to 5-16 while the Blazers at 17-5 better starting playing like its the back end of the 82 or OKC will be riding passenger by new year's day!
