The game started as though it would be a 9-8 or 7-6 affair as both Net Minders appeared to have the "Shakes" early. Five goals in Frame One as the Hawks scored the last of the five on a Patrick Kane Breakaway as he went 5-Hole on the Blues Ryan Miller to make it 3-2 Hawk after one.
That goal fortunatley enough for the Indian Head stood up for almost two whole Frames as the Hawks took that 3-2 lead late into then 3rd only for the Blues Jaden Schwartz at the 18:15 mark on a backhand to tie things up at 3-3. Both Teams from then on out had plenty of chances as they almost played another game until the start of the 3rd Extra Frame when the Blues Alexander Steen struck just 26 seconds into frame three for the Blues Game-Winner.
Corey Crawford went vintage "Fight for Lord Stanley" as he stopped some 48 of 52 shots. The Blues had no offense in the 2nd frame in Regulations with just four shots on goal but cranked it up in the 3rd out of desperation top get 14 shots on Crawford. The Hawks put 442 shots on nets as Miller stooped 39 of them and the Hawks it appeared after that 1st extra Frame had no life as the Blues playing behind a Home-Cooked Meal and Home Crowd had that extra hop to their step.
Hawks gets goals from Johnny Oduya, Brent Seabrook, and Patrick Kane. The Blues get Goals from Adam Cracknell, Vladamir Tarasenko, Jaden Schwartz, and the game-winner from Alexander Steen as he and David Backes make the Blue Notes go!
Game #2 will be back in the Ameritrade Center at 3pm ET Saturday April 19th as the Blues lead 1-0 in the Best of Seven Series.
