The Memphis Grizzlies did everything versus the OKC Thunder but lose the game as it went to Extras with Grit and Grind pulling out a 111-105 win. The Grizz did their best impersonation of turning Thunder Alley into the Grind House and they controlled the game from start to finish leading after every frame but the 4th.
The Thunder sent the game into Extras after Kendrick "Perk" Perkins put back a missed potential game-winning Money Ball from Russ Westbrook. That lay up tied the score at 99-99 as we went to Extras where the Grind House once again with all that veteran savvy took over late and put the game away behind Courtney Lee and Zach Randolph.
The Grizz Starters played extremely well scoring a combined 76 points led by Z-Bo. The game though was decided by that Grizz bench led by the "Grind Father" Tony Allen and Knicks Castoff PG Beno Udrih. They out scored the OKC Bench 33-14 as Allen had 8 points and eight boards while Udrih had a huge 14 points scoring at will late in the 3rd frame. Memphis shooting close to 50% and almost 90% from the stripe put them into the Winner's Circle as well.
KD went for 36 points on 12 for 28 with eleven boards. Russ added 29 points, eight helpers, and seven boards but OKC will not get out of the West with no bench production and "Air Congo" Serge Ibaka (15 pts 11 rebs 4 blks) the only threat on that front line.
Game 3 is Thursday April 24th at the Grind House on Beale Street...
360 Degrees...Grit and Grind assisted on 30 shots to OKC's 20 which means OKC is getting limited ball movement and everyone is watching KD and Russ..."Spacing and ball Movement" then let your Stars make a play!
