The Chicago Blackhawks Net Minder Corey Crawford knew he had to be better because he is better than what he has shown in the 'Lou. Those two games he played well enough to win if not for some unforeseen boo boos late in the 3rd frame in both losses.
Fast Forward to Monday April 21st, 2014 and if the Hawks would have taken another "L" it would have been known as "Indian Head gone Black Monday". We at Hawks Nation never think of the negative..why would we with Lord Stanley's been here in 2010 and 2013.
Hawks #1 Net Minder Crawford stopped 35 of 35 on Net as the Hawks get a pivotal "W" and shutout 2-0. "Captain Serious" wrister early in the 1st frame eased the tension in the Madhouse and after that score the Hawks settled down and played Indian Head Hockey. The Blues Net minder Ryan Miller was equally as tough stopping 23 of 24 shots as Hawks Goal #2 was an (EN) Empty Net Goal by Markus Kruger.
Hawks Center Michal Handzus dba "Zuuuuuuuuuuuus" in Hawks Nation was phenomenal. In just over 12 minutes of Ice Time he did as much as a Center could do as far as impacting the game outside of scoring a goal. The Hawks needed him and he has been the Indian Head's M.V.P. going on three straight.
Sheldon Brookbank held his own filling in for "Brooksie" and teaming up with D.K. on that 1st line of defense. The hawks now will go for the tie 2-2 on Hump Day April 23rd at 930pm ET in Game 4.
Blue Notes still lead 2-1...
