The Memphis Grizzlies do not have the team that can spot a team in Winning Time double digits and comeback firing offensively as they are just not built that way. OKC Thunder on the other hand wanted to find out and find out they did.
The Regulators playing the West 2nd Most Wanted outside of the Alamo Boyz and "POPS" jumped out on the Grizz 29-16 and then hit Hash Tag #GnG for Grit and Grind with a 27-18 2nd frame to take a commanding 56-34 lead. To the Grizz Credit they came back with a huge 3rd frame to cut that 22-point halftime lead to just four at 69-65 OKC.
In the 4th frame OKC got a huge lift from D-Fish, the "Thunder Alley Butler"...Caron, and Darren Collison as they pushed that 69-65 3rd frame lead to 89-75 with just over 5 minutes left in the contest. OKC's 20-10 run at that point led them to a 100-86 win as they coasted in after that 14-point lead.
KD had a game-high 33 points on 13 of 25 from the field. Uncle Russ of Jordan Brand went 23 points and grabbed ten Oranges while waiting on five tables. OKC didn't shoot it from anywhere well but the Grizz stunk Thunder Alley up. They shoot below 20% from the Stripe and under 40% from the Field as Z-Bo led them with 21 points and eleven boards. Marc Gasol and Mike Conley Jr. added 16 points apiece as the Grizz have to not dig them a hole in the remaining games or it will be a quick series.
OKC goes up 1-0 as Game #2 is Monday Night April 21st at 8pm ET on TNT...
