The Boston Red Sox must have picked up some momentum in that intrasquad scrimmage they had this past Hump Day as the pummeled the Rays 12-2. Everyone got in on the act but most importantly Bo Sox Starter Jon Lester is locked in and far removed from Team Chicken and Suds.

Lester had plenty of Run Support but he still was somewhat masterful in Game 1 vs the Rays. Lester went into the 8th and left with two outs as he allowed two runs on three hits while striking out seven. Those two runs he allowed were Solo Shots by Sean Rodriguez and Ben Zobrist. Look the Rays had everyone on edge for at least five innings and with a 2-0 lead over the Carmines they Carmines answered back in a big way.

Heading into the bottom of the 4th frame the Red Sox put up a crooked five and in the 5th frame a crooked three as they chased Ray Starer Matt Moore in the 5th. Red Sox Back Stop Jarrod Saltalamacchia led the Bo Sox with three RBI as both Johnny Gomes and Shane Victorino added two RBI. Surprisingly enough the Sox didn't hit any souvenirs around Pesky Pole or over the Green Monster.

Rays Starter Matt Moore's line was 4 1/3 innings allowing seven runs on eight hits as he walked two and struck out four. The Rays need to regroup for Saturday's Tilt as they cannot go back to Tampa facing elimination.

Game 2 is on Saturday October 5th...
