The "Fight for Ed" is here and that the Eddie Gottlieb Trophy for the NBA's Rookie of the Year. Is the Trophy in 2012-13 about Numbers as far as P.P.G., Minutes Played, or more about how you impacted your Team and a Game on a Nightly Basis? Well if you consider all three it's a no brainer who my 2012-13 "Fight for Ed" Trophy goes to.....

Top 5 in order starting with the "Fight for Ed" Recipient for 2012-13:

Damian Lillard aka D.L. of #BLAZERmania 19.5 ppg 6.5 assts 3 rebs...the runaway winner of the 2012-13 "Fight for Ed" as he dominated from the 2012 Sin City NBA Summer League to Opening Night throughout and he never hit the Rookie Wall. Dynamic as he can be reminds the Bluedude of former Cavs 1st Rounder and Oregon Duck Terrell Brandon. (14th in Scoring in NBA and tied for 2nd in NBA in Minutes played) 82 Gms

Anthony Davis aka "Uni Brow" of NOLA #NOH 13.5 ppg 8.2 rebs....If he wasn't injured here and there he could have done more damage as Davis as does Lillard have that "It" Factory as "Greatness" is headed in their direction. Towards the end of the Season Davis played extremely well on both ends of the Hardwood. Reminds the Bluedude of Rasheed Wallace mixed in with Theo Ratliff...Hmmmm! 64 Gms

Dion Waiters aka the Waiter #Cavs 14.7 ppg 3 assts..Super-Explosive and had the nerve to play some Point Guard when teammate "Kyrie for Mayor" went down. He has Range, get get you off the Bounce, and can finish and take the Elevator with any Guard. Reminds me of  a more athletic Mitch Richmond of Run TLC of GSW.  61 Gms

Bradly Beal aka @theRealDealBeal23 #Wiz 13.9 ppg 3.8 rebs...He struggled at first because he didn't realize how fast NBA Defenders can close on Shooters and then enter Wizards PG John Wall. Wall created space for Beal and then he exploded looking alike a mini-version of former Pistons and Knicks Standout Allan Houston. He should be even better with a healthy John Wall in the back court from Jump street in 2013-14. 56 Gms

Harrison Barnes #DUBnation 9.2 ppg 4.1 rebs...He slowly started to gather himself and get more and more comfortable as the season went on. A perfect fit for GSW as you need to run No Plays for Barnes as he can rebound and finish on the Break. Needs to work on his "Off the Bounce" Game but excellent pick for GSW. 81 Gms

Note: Lillard and Barnes played 82 and 81 games and its not so much for Productivity as it is for staying healthy for 82 games.
