The Boston Red Sox are getting excellent Starting Pitching from the Bump and timely hitting as they go for the Sweep on Monday vs the Rays. Sunday it was Red Sox Starter Clay Buchholz who almost went No-No shutting down the Rays. Buchholz went eight innings allowing two hits, four free passes and struck out eleven. The Red Sox did most of their damage with a four run 4th Inning. The Hitting Star for the Carmines Shortstop Dustin Pedroia as he went 3 for 4.

The Pittsburgh Pirates couldn't wait to get home for some Home-Cooking as they surprise the Cincinnati Reds with a three-game sweep. Down 6-4 in the bottom of the 8th frame the Buccos put up a crooked number 6 and allow a run in the top half of the ninth to beat the Reds 10-7. Reds Reliever Jonathan Broxton got lit up as he gave up six runs on two bombs and three hits on just 2.3 of an inning. The Reds also may lose Johnny Cueto for a while as he left Saturday's game with a reported Triceps discomfort. The Buccos now leave the Weekend Sweep of the Red Legs 6-6 as the Red Legs fall to 5-7.

Behind a "Gem" from Starter RHP Hiroki Kuroda the Bronx Bombers silent the O's in a 3-0 shutout. Kuroda went 9 innings allowing five hits and striking out five on his way to victory #2 on the season. The Blow for the Yanks was CF Brett Gardner's 2-Run Big Fly in the 5th Inning of O's Starter Wei-Yen Chen. The Yanks now move to 6-5 as the O's fall to 6-6. The Battle for the AL East will go to a Photo Finish as all five Teams could win it based on what we are seeing in the first two weeks. It's Early but no one seems to be dominant at least yet.
