The War of Attrition will be on Tap Saturday in Jerry Jones' Cowboys Complex and the Story lines are building in the Wrong Direction for the Wolverines. Top RB and Top DE for Michigan didn't make the Trip to due to some Off the Field Indiscretions to say the least and the Load falls even more on QB and 2012 Heisman Candidate Denard Robinson.
The Tide are coming in as Defending National Champions and a Plethora of Talented Players including 3 Pre Season All-Americans in Backers Nico Johnson and CJ Mosely along with OT/OG/C Barrett Jones who is also a Academic All-American 2 Years running.
The Tide also have experience at QB as Junior AJ McCarron will start his 2nd Full Season as Bama Signal-Caller and will be joined by RB Eddie Lacy. On the Outside WR Kevin Norwood and TE Kelly Johnson have the Experience.
The Tide will make their Impact on Defense like they do every Season and the Backers are two of the Best in the US in the aforementioned Mosely and Johnson. Also look for Junior DB Dee Milner, who started as a True Freshman, to go with JUCO DB Deion Belue. Senior Safety Robert Lester is the Leader at Safety and watch these True Freshman...SS Landon Collins (#1 Safety in the US in HS in 2012 from Louisiana), LBs Denzel Devall and Reggie Ragland, and CB Geno Smith.
The Tide will try to win the Game Up Front and then the Skilled Players do the Cleanup and the Wolverines have to be ready.
The Wolverines down their Top Running Back will still have to show they can Pass the Pigskin and that is QB Denard Robinson's Achilles Heel. Now they have to rely on SR Vincent Smith along with Sophomore RB Thomas Rawls and Freshman RB Justice Hayes.
On the Outside Robinson has All Big-Ten Selection Roy Roundtree and Jeremy Gallon to lean on. The O-Line is led by All-American Candidate OT Taylor Lewan.
The Wolverines Defense was way better than the Rich Rod Version and they will be even better with a Full Year under the Belt in Hoke's System. Look for DT Will Campbell to anchor an inexperienced Front against the Nations perhaps Best Offensive Line. Safety Jordan Kovacs to lead the Defesnive Charge with Senior CB J.T. Floyd.
The Wolverines know if they cannot control the Line of Scrimmage it will be a Long Night no matter what they do. Bama's Staple is Getting Ahead in the game and Pounding the Pigskin on the Ground along with a Blitzing Downhill Defense.
