Sometimes when things are going good almost too good especially at the house Teams need to get away and go fins some adversity. Well the Toronto Raptors took a couple of L's after home-cooked meals in the Six and now is back on the road coming out of the motel as they visited the new Los Angeles Clippers at Staples Center L.A. Sports Arena set-up.
The surprising Clippers came into tonight's action at a nice 17-9 clip as their starter have all played well to date. Well they needed a huge output from that starting group tonight and didn't get it an it cost them.
The Dinosaurs from Toronto at a 21-7 clip came out running on all cylinders building a 36-23 lead after one behind the stellar play of PF Serge Ibaka dba "Air Congo" from the Republic of Congo. Serge had a game-high 25 points on a very efficient 11 for 18 as the Clips front line could nothing with "Air Congo"!
That Raptors lead built up to a 70-57 lead at the break as "A Tribe called Clippers Bench" held the Clips together behind a team-high 18 points from the "Ginormous" Boban Marjanovic who would give "Lurch" from the Addams Family all he anted from a physical perspective. Tyrone Wallace added 15 off that Clips Bench with L.A. needing some serious scoring punch.
After the break Clips lead man Doc Rivers stayed with the starters and the Raptors took full advantage of them again outscoring the Clips 33-17 for a 103-74 lead at the end of three and the Raptors never looked back.
Former U.S. Olympian and Raptors Point God Kyle Lowry added 21 points and handed out seven helpers with "big" Jonas Valanciunas adding 16 off that Raptors Bench. Toronto shot nearly 53% for the game from the field and nearly 50% from Manhattan Beach, California and Santa Monica, California. Clips shot just under 30% from Long Beach, California as they fall to 17-10 while Toronto moves to 22-7.
No Kawhi Leonard for the Raptors...DND Teams Decision...ok!
