The Chicago Cubs and the Pittsburgh Pirates Rubber Match was highlighted by Cubbies Starter Travis Wood throwing a gem through six and the Cubbies imploding in the 7th. The Pirates spotted the Cubbies one run in the 3rd and three in the fourth only to be on the wrong end of the deal come stage left.
Cubs Starter Travis Wood went six plus giving up a run on four hits while striking out nine Pirates as he walked three. The Cubs get to Pirates Starter Gerrit Cole early as he goes six giving up four runs on five hits as he struck out ten Cubs Hitters walking two. In the same inning with Marte and McCutchen reaching Cubs Reliever James Russell gives up a Three-Run Bomb to Buccos Hot Corner Pedro Alvarez dba "El Toro"...Pirates go up 5-4. Pirates Captain "Save-A-Game" Jason Grilli comes in after a little trouble saves the game in the ninth as Pittsburgh takes the Rubber Game.
