The Winnipeg Jets came out firing as for Hawks Captain Jonathan Toews it was homecoming born and raised in Manitoba. The Jets scored first as Former Hawk Michael Frolik assisted on the first Jets Goal. Then Hawks Net Minder Corey Crawford (8-2-2) would stop the next 26 shots by the Jets as the Hawks go onto win 5-1.
The Hawks tied the game in the 1st frame with a Slapshot from Defenseman Niklas HJalmarsson as that goal would end the scoring in Period One. In the 2nd Period the Hawks would score all three goals as Brandon Bollig, Patrick Sharp, and Nick Leddy all hit the stat books to make it 4-1 Hawks. The Hawks then roll the credits on the Jets with a deflected shot by Ben Smith to give the Hawks a 5-1 Win.
The Hawks just got back to basic with nice fore checking and handling the puck in their end without turning it over. The Hawks move to 9-2-3 on the season for 21 points and one point behind the Central leading Avs who are at 22 points. Winnipeg falls to 5-8-2 and that is 12 points which has them sitting tied at the bottom of the Central with the Stars. The Hawks will turn right around an host the Flames of Calgary on Sunday November 3rd at the Madhouse.
