A die hard Cubs Fans from the 60s and 70s would know exactly what I am talking about referring to those 1969 Cubs who lost a huge lead in the NL to the Mets led by MLB Hall of Famers Nolan Ryan and Tom Seaver.
Now we get the 2K15 Version for all the marbles not in the 162 as the Chicago Cubs are head of Plan Theo by a season or two gets an Amazins' Squad that came out of nowhere to run the NL East from All-Star Break. The Series should be captivating as the North Siders are by far the youngest team left of the four and we get the likes of Bill Murray and John Cusack for Cubs Nation going against Chris Rock and Jerry Seinfeld Diehard Mets Nation!
The Cubbies are going for it as they will have #2 going in Jon "Big Game" Lester first with Jake Arrieta going in Game #2 as Cubs Skipper Joe Maddon is trying to go back to the "Friendly Confines" at least 1-1 or a 2-0 lead.
The Amazins' will have the "Dark Knight" Matt Harvey who was saved in game #3 by the Mets 13-run explosion on the Dodgers. After that Mets Skipper Terry Collins is hiding starters for games 2 - 6 as I expect Bartlolo Colon to go in Game #2 or even Noah Syndergaard but not Jacob DeGrom who I project to go in Game #3.
The Cubbies "Big Boppers" Kris Bryant and Anthony Rizzo have yet to get on track and that is a good thing for Maddon and Company. Players like Kyle Schwarber and Dexter Fowler have risen to the occasion as the North Siders have been coming out the Phone Booth playing #MaddonBall since the Opening Day.
The Mets have Yoenis Cespedes and Captain David Wright but it has been the Daniel Murphy Show and at times he has carried the Amazins' Offense as he is the Elmer's Glue Dude for the Metropolitans. Curtis Granderson and Lucas Duda are no slouches and they match up with the Cubbies except in the Power Numbers...that edge slightly goes to #MaddonBall!
