The Chicago Blackhawks needed a fast start to erase all those missed opportunities the night before vs the Winnipeg Jets and they did that. The problem was the Minnesota Wild also got out to a blazing start and after the smoke cleared the Wild was on top 5-4 as the Hawks lose their 2nd of a back to back Motel Swing in the Twin Cities!
There were five goals scored in frame one as Jonathan Toews (SHG) and Brent Seabrook (PPG) scored after the Wild made it 1-0 to make it 2-1 Indian Head. That would be the last lead the Hawks would have as Ryan Carter scores late in the 1st to tie the game at 2-2 and a Charlie Coyle score with just 11 seconds remaining in the opening frame made it 3-2 Wild after one!
Minnesota led off the 2nd with a goal making it 4-2 only to see themselves deadlocked at 4-4 after the Hawks get goals from Captain Serious again and Russian Artem Anisimov as the Hawks had a chance in this one.
Then some 32 seconds into frame three Nino Niederreiter scored to make it 5-4 Wild and that goal stood as the game-winner as the game was pretty even talking numbers. Hawks net minder Scott Darling stopped 25 of 30 SOG and he is still having trouble stopping the "Frozen One" low on the ice. Devan Dubnyk stopped 25 of 29 SOG as both teams scored a Power Play Goal.
The Wild moves to 7-2-1 winning all five games in the season at home. The Hawks fall to 6-5-0 as they have work to do in the West as D.K. will be out at least until early December...
The Indian Head now heads home to play the Monarchs dba L.A. Kings on Monday Night November 2, 2015...
