Many observers wondered how the 2012-13 OKC Thunder would respond to a shocking trade (James Harden to #REDnation for K-Mart) that was inevitable with the new Salary Cap Restrictions coming for the 2013-14 season. Yes OKC came out the gates a little slow as they were getting acclimated to their new parts but caught stride around Early December. Led by Olympians KD and Russ they flourished once again and dominated the Logo at every turn.
Durant and Westbrook led the Logo with a combined 51.3 ppg as the #1 Cape Crusaders in the Logo for 2012-13. If the Thunder had a weak link in the armor it was limited front court scoring and that became evident in Round 2 of Winning Time. All that nonsense would have been overcome if it wasn't for a freak accident when Uncle Russ was cut off calling a T.O. by #REDnation PG Patrick Beverly. It didn't look like much at first but a day later Russ was diagnosed with a torn Meniscus in his Knee. Just like that One Play changed the West, the NBA Winning Time, and the OKC thunder more importantly for the remainder of the Playoffs.
Now the Thunder with their 2nd round exit for the 2012-13 Season know exactly what they need. Back Up PG and 2nd year PG Reggie Jackson attained Valuable Minutes as a Starter in Winning Time. The Thunder Brass know they need to pick up some kind of low-post presence moving forward. All in All another Banner Year for the Thunder but fittingly enough no Banner in the Rafters and no "for Larry" Opportunity for the 2012-13 season.
