The Lakers are now facing their biggest test yet as the Dallas Mavericks have come from way back to get within striking distance on the #8 Seed in the West. The Jazz have won five straight and now they look the 8th seed part. The Mavs come in with a blazing "Germanator" @Swish41...Mavs PF Dirk Nowitzki. Kobe and Dwight must answer the Bell or the LAKEshow will be a West Winning Time No-Show.

Big D MAVERICKS @ LAKEshow LAKERS

PLAYBOOK

The Lakers have to be in desperate mode as they will battle yet another Team in the West vying for a Winning Time Seed in the Dallas Mavericks. The Mavs have been hot and they are dangerous especially with DIRKiliscious Nowitzki red-hot and looking for nothing but the bottom of the net.

The Lakers will throw the Spaniard at Nowitzki when they should be playing the "Earl of Staples" Lakers SF Earl Clark. Gasol is done and has been done as the Lakers front line is more formidable and versatile with Earl Clark playing with Dwight than Pau playing with Dwight.  The Mavs also have to figure out how they will play the Black Mamba and "Dwight of Three Stripes". Do they play both Kaman and Brand or Kaman and Brendan Wright or all three on Dwight? O.J. Mayo on Kobe Bryant might work for the Mavs on the Offensive End as they need to make KB24 play D.

Point Guard play for the Mavs has been suspect all season long as Darren Collison is not the answer. Can the Lakers make the Mavs pay for poor guard play and exploit the Mavs in that area with the BLAKEshow Purple and Gold Edition...Steve Blake along with Jodie Meeks and a healthy NASHty?

The Lakers also will have a packed house as SHAQ-Diesel goes up in the Staples Rafters with the late great George Mikan, the Late Great Wilt 20K, and Sky Hook, as the Lakers Bigs collectively are the best to ever do it.  More on the "Big Sunset Strip"...Shaq...later on Today at Bluedude Sportstalk.

Lakers and Mavs as both try to rundown the Slat Palace Jazz.

Game time 1030pm ET NBA on TNT
