The 2012 NL Cy Young Award Leaders is sponsored by The Dog Days of the Show are coming as well as Pennant races so to be Cy Young Nominee don't turn the Bump Down every 5 days go get it like you want it.
The NL Cy Young Leaders for 2012:
Gio Gonzalez Nationals
12-3 2.93 ERA 107.2 IP 127 Whiffs
They talk about Strasburg but he is on a 160 IP Count that will be real interesting if the Nats win the NL East and Starsburg is at that mark then what? GONZO is Strasburg's Equal from the Left Side and has electric Stuff as illustrated with his 127 Strikeouts.
R.A. Dickey Amazins'
12-1 2.66 ERA 125 IP 127 Whiffs 2 Shutouts
What a Story and to lead the Amazins' of NYC under all that everyday scrutiny. You wonder if he can keep this Pace because all of his Numbers have NL Cy Young all over them. The Mets in the NL East race should help keep the Edge as though he needs that to do so.
Matt Cain Gigantes
9-3 2.62 ERA 120.1 IP 118 Whiffs 2 Shutouts
The #1 in that Rotation was Tim Lincecum and now Cain is by far the Steady of the two. Then you throw in Madison Bumgarner's 11-5 3.14 ERA they may have him on this list as well. Cain fits the Mold of a #1 on that Staff because he is so even keeled. He will keep the Gigantes in the NL West Race along with Bumgarner and if they can get a Vintage Lincecum they will win the NL West.
Johnny Cueto Red Legs
10-5 2.39 ERA 120.1 IP 91 Whiffs
He is Reds Skip Dusty Baker's #1 Arm in the Rotation and has excellent stuff. A tough call here but a Strong ERA, Innings Pitched, K's, and W-L puts him in the Conversation. Now if the Reds are to stay on the Buccos Cueto needs to be even better every 5th Day.
James McDonald Buccos
9-3 2.59 ERA 114.2 IP 102 Whiffs
Not a surprise here as McDonald and A.J. Burnett are carrying the Pirates Rotation and McDonald is in the Top 5 from Strikeouts, ERA, and the Buccos are in the Catbird Seat in the NL East in large part due to him.
Others to Watch
Redbirds Duo Kyle Lohse/Lance Lynn
Buccos Joel Hanrahan (Only Save Man on List)
Stephen Strasburg Nats (If he wasn't on a pitch Count he is #1)
Madison Bumgarner Gigantes
Note: Numbers from MLB.com
When called to the Bump...you better hope this late in the Show your Horses are Ready to Show.
