SF Kawhi Leonard dba "Klaw"
35 mins 45 pts 6 rebs (16-22 fg) 13-17 FT
The Toronto Raptors trying to stay on top of the east with the east leading Milwaukee Bucks gets 45 points from New Balance Shoes wearing the "Klaw" Kawhi Leonard (pictured below) and robust 28 points from the ever evolving power forward Siakam Paschal from Cameroon and New Mexico State Aggies to beat the Utah Jazz 122-116 in the Six!
A game that was 53-51 Jazz at the break was opened up a little in the 3rd frame as the Raptors offensively got it going behind the "Klaw" who shot 16 for 22 from the field and 13 of 17 from the stripe. Utah had no answer for him but Toronto had a few problems slowing down a non-starter from the Jazz.
Former Marquette Warriors standout and Junior College All-American and "Bloodline" Jae Crowder had a team-high 30 points fro Utah in just 27 minutes on 9 for 15 from the field. Crowder has flourished under Jazz lead man Quinn Snyder's system and he was the one player I thought the Celtics maybe could have kept but to Celtics GM Trade Danny Ainge they let go to give the young players (Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown) time to get right.
Jazz PF Derrick Favors led the starters with 21 points and nine boards with "Spida" Mitchell adding 19. Jazz let the Raptors shoot nearly 55% from the field and that was the deal breaker with Utah coming out of the motel...
Raptors move to 28-11 as they get their second ind and the Jazz falls to 18-20 and every "L" in the west is magnified to say the least!
