The Chicago Cubs enters new Busch Stadium at 78-57 holding down the #2 NL Wild Card by 7.5 games over the Washington Nationals. The Cubbies also trails the #1 NL Wild Card Team the Pittsburgh Pirates by just three games. The Cardinals are up 5.5 games on the Pirates but we have plenty of Hardball still to play and something has to give in these next few weeks.
"On the Bump" the Cubbies will be facing the Redbirds top 3 arms as Wacha and Martinez will go in games 2 and 3. The Cubs need Dan Haren who looks out of gas to step up and give them a shot in the arm by eating up some frames keeping the Cubbies in the opener.
"On the Hill" at least for "Maddon Ball" its been the Long Ball as Cubbies #1 Donut-Runner Kris Bryant has been on a tear and the "Future is now for this young rising star. The Redbirds come from up and down that line up and you never know who is going to have a day as they are simply "Consistent" and at 87-49 in the 162...you be the judge!
